Potassium humate effect on the rats’ reproductive system

The article describes reactive changes in rats’ reproductive system as a result of potassium humate effect. The experiment involved 80 male and 32 female rats of one month of birth weighing 190-210 g. The animals were equally divided into 8 groups and received solution of potassium humate according to the group affiliation. Solution was prepared
on distilled water and was administered to animals intragastrically on a daily basis in accordance with the group affiliation and timing at a dose of 10 mg / 100 g body weight, 1 ml. The control animals received 1 ml of distilled water. The animals were daily monitored. The organs of the males and females reproductive system was assessed depending
on the duration of humate therapy. The experiment has showed that potassium humate therapy causes some effects on the rats reproductive system such as an increase of testes mass ratio; a reduction of pathological sperm cells; the females revealed decreased amounts of the atretic bodies and increased amount of the Graafian follicle in the ovaries. Depending on the potassium humate therapy duration, the females showed increased amount of corpora lutea and implantation sites per one female.

Pharmacological support for hiv children

Teenagers’ awareness about HIV problem was studied by questionnaire survey. The data obtained during the study showed that the level of teenagers’ awareness on such an important disease is insufficient. The results of the conducted studies should be used to develop an information program for the schools in order to better inform the teenagers about this disease. The studies indicate that HIV-infection incidence among children increases year by year, but thanks to the developed therapy, HIV-infection from an absolutely fatal disease passed into a group of diseases that, like diabetes, require constant drug treatment. The same studies highlighted that children who did not receive antiretroviral therapy, die in the future of complications associated with HIV-infection. Both treatment and prevention measures require early introduction and dissemination of the information on HIV-infection and the methods to control it.

Modeling of the wounds microbial contamination in vitro

The article describes the study of wounds microbiocenosis modeling in vitro, taking into account that human and animal wounds are infected by coccal microflora in the early stages. Microbial biofilms are difficult to treat, so to be able to control them, it is important to model them and to identify the source for sanitation, as well as to study their interaction with the congenital and adaptive immunity.

Medical rehabilitation of the invalids after fighting сraniocerebral trauma

The article describes the problem of rehabilitation and social integration of more than 400 invalids who received craniocerebral trauma in the local military conflicts. Based on the main pathogenic and sanogenetic mechanisms, as well as individual personality on the injured, the article defines three main steps of the rehabilitation. Also there are data
on neurorehabilitation components: restitution, regeneration and compensation. The study analyzed the catamnesis of the injured in a long term period after the injury (from five to ten years).

Blood rheology in tumor colonic obstruction patients in the immediate postoperative period

Recent years, all the developed countries noted incidence rate of colon cancer. Among all cancer types, incidence of colorectal cancer is firmly on the third place and equal to 10 %. As a cause of cancer death, colon cancer is second only to lung cancer. In such patients, changes of the microcirculation in the immediate postoperative period plays equally important role. Herewith, the studies of the blood rheological properties as one of the microcirculation parameters is not enough covered in the scientific sources. To achieve this goal, we studied the rheological properties of the blood in 30 patients who had surgeries for tumor obstruction of the colon. In all patients, the tumor was localized in the right half of the colon. The study group included 17 (6.6 %) men and 13 (43.3 %) women. The average age was 57 ± 3 years. Time from the first clinical signs to admission at the hospital and start of the treatment and diagnostic procedures was 12 ± 0.5 hours. Disease stage was T3N0-1M0. The control group included 20 relatively healthy volunteers of the same age and sex. In order to assess the changes of the blood rheology, the investigators studied blood viscosity, changes of the erythrocytes deformation and aggregation rate. Blood viscosity was assessed by a rotational viscometer at the shear rates of 200; 100; 150; 50 and 20 c-1. The parameter was checked at the time of admission, and then on the first, third, fifth, seventh and tenth postoperative day. The study showed that patients with colonic obstruction have increased level
of the blood viscosity at the time of admission at all shear rates; the analyzed parameters increase on the third postoperative day, decrease on the seventh day and partially restored on the tenth day after the surgery. Complications occurred in 16.6 % of cases; all the patients developed pneumonia. Comparing the obtained laboratory data with the clinical picture, it was found out that complications developed on 3rd-5th postoperative day. At the moment of admission, the patients with colonic obstruction had increased level of the blood viscosity at all shear rates. The analyzed parameters increased on the third postoperative day, decreased to the seventh and partially restored to the tenth postoperative day. Key words: immediate postoperative period, blood rheological properties, colonic obstruction.
